The one or the other; which is more important? I think the destructive art of Procrastination is one of the worst enemies humans face on their road to Self development and Realization of their true powers within, regardless of what field we talk about. Having been in “the game” for more than 3 decades now, and been teaching for just as long; I have heard so many excuses that I could write a whole book about them. One of the most common ones is “I lack motivation at the moment”. If they knew just how lame it sounded they would hopefully not say it. In my head motivation is a completely useless word, which shoud have been eradicated from the vocabulary. It may be the most sneaky way in which your mind operates in order to remain in control.
Forget about motivation; get discipline into your life; if not you will at the best remain a mediocre practitioner for the rest of your time on earth, and most probably you won’t be anything. You will sit in old age, looking back in reminiscence of the outstanding talents you had. If I had only done this and if I had only done that; what could I not have become?!
This brings us back to the One key factor of Personal development and achievement- Discipline. Without it there is no hope, you might as well pack your bags and leave the path at once.
What separates the Winners from the losers is that the former always looks for opportunities, and the latter looks for excuses.
In order to achieve anything of importance in life one needs discipline; the ability to intelligently formulate a goal and then pursue it, tirelessly, with dedication and focus- every day. There are no breaks from life, we should not be in any need of vacation from our own development and realization. It is why you have come to earth; to realize the Supreme Being inside; to reconnect to the Source of Creation. The only way to do that is to identify the source within you and then follow it’s commands in everything you do.

On Discipline a library could be written; of all the great men and women we have seen through history; conquerors, athletes, martial artists, scientists, inventors and strongmen; they have had this one thing in common; an unbendable Discipline. Do you think that Muhammad Ali slept until 11.00 in the morning, and upon waking up wondered whether he was motivated to train today? Do you imagine Miyamoto Musashi didn’t find the opportunity to train, though he was in lack of both a house and a place to train in? If you do so, you gotta learn more about history. All men of Greatness have conquered their minds, at least partly. When the mind itself rules your actions you will never transgress the limits of ordinary men; you will never Realize the True Potential within.
Motivation is a lie; what other motivation should you need than the inner desire to excel, the burning vibration of conquering the world and yourself??
With Discipline must come focus, without that it doesn’t really matter how much time we devote to our goal. If we are scattered in our thoughts, if we do not have the ability to hold on to a thought and a task for more than 3 seconds at a time- all hope of development is gone. Therefore, start working on your focus, your power of concentration, and apply that alongside your Discipline. Only then shall you Conquer your mind and Realize the Supreme Being inside.
