“It will yield the Strength of a Horse”
Charaka Samhita
Known to been in use for 6000 years, Ashwagandha, or Whitania Somnifera which is the Latin name, is one of the most researched herbs in nature. It is also one of the most treasured ones in Ayurveda(the Science of Life).

This specific extract is a 30:1 extract; meaning 30 kg of herbs are needed to produce 1 kg of extract. Pretty much all of the Ashwagandha powders you will come across are simply dried and powdered root, meaning they have a concentration of about 5:1. This extract is literally 6 times as potent.
What are the potential benefits?
As one of the most treasured herbs in Ayurveda, and recently gaining a lot of attention even in the West, Ashwagandha is known to give an astounding amount of benefits:
-
May relieve Stress and Anxiety– Ashwagandha is very well known for its stress-relieving properties. Several studies highlight this advantage, observing ashwagandha’s ability to decrease stress and anxiety levels significantly.
One particular study indicated that ashwagandha can benefit sleep quality as well—researchers confirmed participants slept much better with doses of the herb compared to placebo doses.
- May lower Blood Sugar and Fats- Some clinical studies have found ashwagandha to be helpful in reducing blood glucose levels and triglycerides (the most common type of fat in the blood). One study likened ashwagandha’s blood sugar-lowering effects to those of medications prescribed for type 2 diabetes.
- May increase Muscle Mass and Strength- Many studies have been done to prove ashwagandha’s efficacy in improving strength and muscle size. One study found participants experienced increased speed and strength. Another study observed an increase in muscle power, alongside a lower body fat percentage and reduced cholesterol levels when ashwagandha was consumed.Ashwagandha treatments produced positive results in another study conducted solely with male participants. Compared to the placebo group, men who received ashwagandha saw significant gains in muscle strength and muscle size in their arms and chests(the study used bench press as a benchmark exercise), as well as a significant reduction in body fat percentage and post-workout muscle damage.
- May boost Fertility and Testosterone Levels in Men- Ashwagandha may also provide reproductive benefits for men. Administering ashwagandha to infertile men has shown to improve sperm quality significantly by rebalancing reproductive hormone levels. Separately, in a stress-related ashwagandha study, researchers found the herb increased testosterone levels in male but not female participants. Another study testing ashwagandha’s effect on muscle strength in men also measured a significant increase in testosterone.
- May sharpen Focus and Memory- Ashwagandha may help improve cognition, memory and the ability to perform motor responses after instruction. Small studies have found that, compared to a placebo, ashwagandha significantly improved participants’ reaction times during cognition and psychomotor tests (which measure the ability to respond to instructions and perform an indicated action). One study even found that ashwagandha significantly improved participants’ attention spans, as well as their immediate and general memory across a variety of tests.
- May support Heart Health- This one study shows that ashwagandha can increase VO2 max levels, which is the maximum amount of oxygen you take in while physically exerting yourself. These levels are used in measuring cardiorespiratory endurance—how well the heart and lungs deliver oxygen to muscles during physical activity. Thus, higher VO2 max levels can indicate a healthy heart that performs well under those circumstances.
Dosage and recommendations
A daily dosage of 1000-2000 mg is recommended, and you may well divide it in two dosages if you feel like it. Taken in the afternoon or evening it will provide the best benefits, as this herb aids in healthy sleep. It’s not recommended to use it as a pre-workout supplement, though it has muscle building properties. It will make you relax, and that’s really not what you want when working out. Post-workout however it’s excellent. As most other herbs and supplements it works best taken on an empty stomach. Add it to a glass of warm(35-40 degrees C) water for ease of blending, or use a shaker if you wanna use cold water.
This particular extract has a withanolide concentration of at least 2.5%, which I personally find the ideal concentration in terms of taste and benefits.
If you’re looking into Ashwagandha for support of testosterone, you would also benefit from looking at this formula.
Warning:
Pregnant and breast feeding women should not take Ashwagandha. Talk to a doctor before using ashwagandha if you have any health conditions, including cancer, diabetes, thyroid problems, bleeding disorders, ulcers, lupus, multiple sclerosis, or rheumatoid arthritis. Ashwagandha might interfere with thyroid tests. Stop taking ashwagandha two weeks before surgery.
Every order comes with a 1 gram measuring spoon.
Ingredients: 100% organic Ashwagandha 30:1 extract- nothing else.
